minus-squarechunkystyles@sopuli.xyzlinkfedilinkEnglisharrow-up9arrow-down1·1 year agoI get that, but they deserve to be paid a livable wage like everyone else.
minus-squareRalphFurley@lemmy.worldlinkfedilinkarrow-up4·1 year agoI agree and I’m happy to pay more. I just hope this doesn’t go away.
minus-squareerrer@lemmy.worldlinkfedilinkEnglisharrow-up1arrow-down9·1 year agoWhy do these drivers get paid a 50% higher wage than minimum wage? EMT drivers don’t even get this much
minus-squarechunkystyles@sopuli.xyzlinkfedilinkEnglisharrow-up17arrow-down2·1 year agoEVERYONE deserves a liveable wage, including the people you mentioned.
minus-squareerrer@lemmy.worldlinkfedilinkEnglisharrow-up1arrow-down7·1 year agoThat’s what the minimum wage is for.

minus-squareerrer@lemmy.worldlinkfedilinkEnglisharrow-up1arrow-down1·1 year agoSounds like someone thinks a particular class of worker should make more than their peers for arbitrary reasons.
minus-squaresunzu@kbin.runBanned from communitylinkfedilinkarrow-up2·1 year agoI think min wage should be set where a person can live without transfer payments from the state and food banks
minus-squareerrer@lemmy.worldlinkfedilinkEnglisharrow-up1arrow-down1·1 year agoCool, then Uber drivers should make minimum wage and the push should be to increase minimum wage.

minus-squareAtariDump@lemmy.worldlinkfedilinkarrow-up8·1 year agoYou’re right, and I’m angry too. EMT drivers should be paid more (as well as the Uber/Lyft drivers)!
minus-squareWalrusDragonOnABike [they/them]linkfedilinkarrow-up3·1 year agoBecause part of the time they aren’t being paid at all for their work and a good chunk of that money goes into the vehicle and fuel itself. After accounting for all the unpaid labor hours and expenses, it probably still comes out sub-minimum-wage.
