Curious how much non-hypermasculine cis guys seriously worry about phytoestrogen. Used to find it weird someone would be so concerned about it, even if it did have estrogen-like effects in the human body, but I think I assumed it was a niche concern/

badeline-jokerfied I hope it’s a lot! I want “cis” guys awake in terror at night because they ate Aunt Bertha’s curry without knowing there was tofu in it!!!

It is such a weird thing tbh, but uh something all politics as sexual pathology, I think?

There’s kind of a racial element to it considering how tofu is a staple of asian cooking and how that intersects with western stereotypes of asian men as effeminate. Possibly also an anti-veganism? Ultimately it depends on the individual chud but there’s a lot of intersecting reasons, though I feel like the racial one is the source if any in this case.

Yeah the anti-veganism is definitely there I’m just not sure it’s the primary reason for the eatrogenising soy myth starting vs the racism. It is certainly a major reason for it continuing to have prevalence though.
