I love that argument, it tickles me every time I hear it because bananas were intelligently designed… by humans, on purpose, over thousands of years, to make them more palatable and easier to eat than their original nearly inedible form.
Which is even sillier considering we’ve selectively bred bananas to look and taste good. They’re literally an example of how selection can drastically change a species.
It turned out that the male throat was just naturally more-biologically-suited to rapidly slide sausages down.
Just makes me think of this:
Reminds me of the old banana argument for intelligent design. It fits well in your hand, and is nicely curved for ease of consumption.

and they usually open the banana the hard way too
With the pop tab side?
the flower end is the easy end. just pinch and split. the stem end is a mess.
The meme I was referencing identified a banana having a “pop tab”, which is in fact the difficult way to open it.

Mine has the embedded string that you pull to tear a straight line from end to end. What kind of banana has tab side? I’d like to try that!

This is actually a brilliant retort to intelligent design.
