We might not actually be imitating Germany in 1923.

We might be working on a reboot of France, 1789.

Note: I do not agree with this.

The angle here is that France gave so much money to the US to support the American Revolution that they went entirely bankrupt and this lead directly to the French Revolution and a lot of head chopping. They did this specifically to screw over the UK because they were rivals but screwed themselves over in the process.

The person you responded to is making comparisons to that and aid to Israel/Ukraine now.

Wait, so the French Revolution was repeated by the US at the end of WWI trying to help the German economy and then when Americans should have been blaming insider trading and corruption, instead they were like, “eh, suicide is easier than building a guillotine?”

          Also, I don’t get the comparison…

Germany in 1923 was a destitute country because the world decided that Germany was responsible for raparations to every country they affected during WWI. This destroyed their economy and ruined the lives of millions of innocent civilians, which really lead the way for Hitler and the Nazis to take power after. I don’t know what specifically is important about 1923 here, so there may be some reference I’m missing.

I’m not understanding your reference to France in the last message.
