I’ll take it over the literal slop of propaganda that comes out of NK, it’s definitely more reliable than that at the least.

oh and just as a quick addendum, i feel compelled to point out that the daily nk is literal propaganda slop. that is its actual purpose!

The organization is part of a consortium with the Unification Media Group, which is a South Korea–based non-profit organization that produces and delivers radio content into North Korea via short-wave radio broadcasts.

like it’s not even pretending to be subtle. even the fucking wiki page admits it.

i’m sure you would, but that doesn’t really say anything about the veracity of the claims presented. it just tells us where your biases lay. did you know that under SK’s National Security Act it’s functionally illegal to say anything positive about the north? like, this is a real verified law that we know exists and does (more or less) what the article says the north is doing. meanwhile the article gives us gems like

According to a Daily NK source in North Hamgyong province recently, four people in their twenties were arrested in Chongjin by local state security officers for talking like South Koreans.

wow, extremely verifiable! the daily nk is run out of seoul, takes CIA cutout (NED) money, and relies exclusively on anonymous sources, so it simply must be believed.

a question for you to ponder: if i asked all the people who most hated you and wished to see you dead what their opinion on you was, and then formed my opinions exclusively on their word, would you consider that fair? would you consider it “definitely […] reliable”? you don’t need to answer, but do give it some thought.

Could you even FIND any “NK” propaganda if you tried, or are you just considering anything outside the US imperial propaganda sphere (the biggest and most pervasive in history) to be “enemy propaganda”? Seriously, I want to know where in the english-speaking internet you think people are even encountering northern perspectives at all. Because this seems to me like the laziest, most ridiculous “no u”.

Tell me where you see this “slop of NK propaganda”, and if you say “from hexbearberdly-smug” We’re going to bully you for being God’s most Predictable Redditeur.
