This is exactly the dynamic my wife and I have.
I always thought it was more equivalent to “let’s make sure we didn’t plug the Warp cable in upside down… again”

Here's my analog multimeter...English3·4 days agoThere was still a Radioshack sign up in a plaza in the town I moved to a couple of years ago. I got excited that somehow this one Radioshack had survived. No such luck though, they just never bothered to remove the sign.

When I was 18 and my parents moved away, I only had $30 for food that first month. I was able to get ramen for 10/$1 and it got me through. It took me many years to be able to enjoy ramen after I was able to afford not being forced to eat it.

This kid is straight up hacking time. He better watch out for laser raptors.
Agreed, that’s an excellent new word. Cromulent even.

What would you do?2·4 days agoMaybe I misunderstood the prompt, I wasn’t taking it that we’d have no nationality at all. Generally speaking, most pieces of land tend to be claimed by a nation with maybe Antarctica as an exception. Alright then I guess I’d need to add a “desperately try to acquire citizenship or get my current boss to pay me under the table” step :)

I also wanted a DAP that didn’t run Android and I ended with the fun and ultra gimmicky Mixxtape (you can use the device itself as a cassette tape). It was only $60-ish, so don’t expect top tier build quality or interface, but I am pretty happy with it.

“Second brain” is a term that has been around a while, but it does get used by a lot of people that are all in on AI these days so i totally see your skepticism. My issues with these second brain/knowledge base/etc tools is that I never end up going back to them to actually look up knowledge. Maybe that is why the AI people are all over it, because most people never use the actually notes they make. Either way, I found it best to just stop using the tools or leave myself semi-structured text notes with good file names.

One only heard about game flops when it became so notable that regular news picked it up as was the case when E.T. and well the whole existing console industry when Atari imploded.

Lol of course it isn’t that hyperbolic. I am still a functioning adult and in fact the main breadwinner of my family. I didn’t set out to be some sort of pop culture storage device, it happened naturally. I do still remember things, I just don’t write them down generally. My wife writes things down specifically because she will not remember them otherwise. Her journaling tendencies are why she has taken on the role of documenting things like appointments and such. If I was on my own again, I’d have to come up with my own method.
