Nolan’s film tells the story of one man’s experience. Cameron is criticizing it for not telling a different story, one that focuses on the horror of the violence. It’s not a cop out to tell a different story. Cameron, while well meaning, is just full of shit here. I hope he makes his own movie exploring these subjects instead of more blue people fantasy cartoons.

I don’t understand this. Is Cuomo listed as a Democrat on the next ballot? If so, what is the purpose of a primary, if a losing candidate can just keep running in the main election? Can anyone just put their name on the main ballot?
At this point, my first reaction to seeing anyone in law enforcement at any level is they are a criminal thugs that cannot be trusted, should be undermined at every opportunity, insulted relentlessly, and if necessary, worse. I know there are some good cops, and not everything they do is bad, but goddamn they do they suck in general.

That just isn’t consistent with the behavior we’ve seen from Iran for decades. They have acted rationally over and over again, trying to avoid conflict, de-escalating when attacked (to their own detriment IMO), signing and complying with treaties. There’s a lot of anti-west sentiment in Iran, sure, but given what the west has done to them for a century, that’s very very rational. Why should I believe that such rational people would ignore the principle of Mutually Assured Destruction that’s prevented all nuclear powers from using the weapons so far?
I’ve been hearing this alarmist rhetoric about Iran here in the US my entire life and I just cannot reconcile it with what I see them do.
Because it would be a meaningful check against Israel and the US which are relentlessly belligerent and the source of most of the violence in the region.
So, are the democrats and the American people, and all our public institutions, and private industry just going to sit around and let these fascist losers ruin everything, forever? Is that the plan? It really looks like that’s the plan right now.
