Red note must be real famous now, if Nbc news is covering it. It’s almost like they banned Tiktok for nothing because now there is another one emerging. They should just not ban Tiktok. Rednote might even be worse than Tiktok for those concerned because the revolt will just grow if the government blocks something deemed a national security threat.

In the u.s it’s not illegal to use a platform just because the government doesn’t like the country. Because you have free speech, right? Their are certain limits of what you can post and view but the u.s has never banned a website in this direct type of approach before Tiktok. and I just think websites getting banned in the u.s will continue to be rare thing. Piracy sites going bankrupt from copyright infringement cases is a completely different thing then an outright ban.

Maybe not TIktok itself, I was mainly referring that it’s maintained by a Chinese company. Too many people in the u.s think China is communist, but it’s lately more like socialism.

But whether it’s socialism, or communism, the Republican party most outspokenly, won’t have either one of those. Mainly because it can devalues the capitalists.

I can see some benefits to this.

1. nsfw content might now be even more legally protected I the u.s if viewers are defacto 18 or older. You can argue all night if it’s moral, but as a varified legal age viewer, no government will show up at the websites door over minors accessing. If you don’t think this happens look up some of the biggest names cases and questionings and etc directed at these kinds websites over the years.

It might actual get these nsfw a more official standing, as even today these types of sites are seen as small 3rd partys. They don’t have apps on Google play. But having these types of things in place might make nsfw sites more likely to get an appstore app in the future.

2. If minors cannot just easily join such a site like these, and upload nsfw content, your content is much more likely to be legal viewing privately in your home.
