Galaxy brain: start with Texas should secede, return TX to Mexico, create a new country for oppressed Mexicans
That one with the person in the corner of a party or whatever “they don’t know my ‘FREE TEXAS’ bumper sticker is an ironic reference to the bombing of Yugoslavia and not an endorsement of the Texas nationalist movement”

Lebanese officials also said Israeli forces entered the border village of Aita al-Shaab and carried out a controlled demolition of a building that had previously been a school for special needs students.
This article also mentions it:
Even as the visit began, Israeli forces blew up a building belonging to a school for children with special needs in the border town of Aita al-Shaab and later targeted a motorbike with a drone strike on the Ain Baal-Ayta al-Shaab road.

I haven’t paid as much attention lately, but there used to be two big “exercises” every year in ROK. They do their little song and dance, DPRK says “don’t dance close to us” and typically nothing ever happens. Some years DPRK will launch a missile into the ocean or stage a bunch of equipment on the border or something.
I followed it pretty closely from about 2003-2010 (KJI was still around back then) and it was always the same. The exercises used to be called something else, but it’s pretty easy to find very similar statements.
I don’t have time to really dig in and find sources, but here’s a quick one I found from 2011. Of course, a lot of shit about DPRK is outright propaganda/lies, so it’s hard to really know sometimes. https://archive.ph/20130124202046/http://www.google.com/hostednews/afp/article/ALeqM5gD-5AvbsV99OdRQFmtkBY6RBJo2A?docId=CNG.363298fc7347ba63c4b288eb7bbce000.4c1

I guess if the assignment is specifically about writing positively even when you disagree, like many people have to do in real jobs every day, then I’d say just do the assignment and move on with your life. I barely remember anything I wrote about in college, and I probably disagree with half of it now.
If you aren’t willing to do this for a grade now, grad school is gonna be rough. At least in my program, it was very much about giving the profs what they wanted and not what you wanted. They’re basically training you to be part of academia, which requires a lot of keeping your mouth shut when you don’t want to and jumping through hoops for grants and such.
I’d suggest just talking to the prof about the assignment and maybe they’ll say it’s cool? I wouldn’t recommend going outside of the assignment unless your GPA can handle it. Grad school applications tend to be highly competitive and if this class is in your major, it’s gonna be weighted more heavily
Yeah, heavy emphasis on buying a used one. I guess at least a model from ~2023 or earlier. It’s difficult to escape this kind of nonsense with printers without spending a lot of money or time on hacking it

Republicans did the same thing during Trump’s first term when they stacked SCOTUS and I think Dems did it during Obama’s second term.
Go to any place that sells used electronics and look for a Brother laser printer from the last 10 years. You can probably find a high end one under $30 if you’re patient or live in/near a larger city.
Inkjet is better quality printing, but they fucking suck for nearly every other reason. Toner can be expensive, but it basically never goes bad or dries up. I’ve seen Brother last 20+ years of regular use.

What next?English2·4 days agoI mean, it’s more than just social media that was getting blocked/banned. They aren’t just posting selfies, this is where people find work, romantic partners, new friends, hobbies, etc. It was happening due to government incompetence and corruption, which has been a long-term issue.
So you’re right, but really the so-called social media ban is much more than that on its own even. I don’t think the person you’re replying to here is trying to say it was just over social media either. Also I think they live in Nepal by the way they’re talking about it.
