  • Every single anarchist I’ve met IRL was at least capable of recognizing anti-communist propaganda. I’ve never had one try to feed me shit from Radio Free Asia or give me a weird look if I say something good about China, USSR, etc.

Only online do these anarchists seem to appear regularly and all I can assume is that most of them are simply baby leftists who have been poisoned by rightwing propaganda along the way. Or maybe all the IRL anarchists I’ve been around were just being polite and after I left they all called me a tankie and red fash idk

  • I try to find ways to exercise that I enjoy anyway or that can give me some sense of satisfaction afterwards.

I do a good bit of hiking when I have the time and in-between I walk up and down this steep hill with stairs cut into the side of it on my way to the creek. I wander around a bit looking for critters and stuff, so lots of squatting. If I haven’t had time to do a real hike, I carry my ruck on these walks to the creek. In the warmer months I’ll walk/swim in the creek about a mile to the river and then walk the road back.

I also have been helping my neighbor who owns the property where the creek is and let’s me walk her land whenever I want. I make sure the trail stays relatively clear and over the last couple of years I built a lot of primitive steps using split logs and mud from the creek. I don’t really enjoy the manual labor that much, but when I’m done I have neat looking stairs that grow moss/fungi on them and the first set I made survived two floods so far

But yeah, I have a really hard time exercising in normal ways like at a gym or something. I can tolerate bodyweight exercises if I’m in the right environment (outside and alone), but nothing can make me want to lift weights regularly.

Animal Crossing is fun if you like doing the same thing every day. I imagine it’s not as active now, so the multiplayer aspects might not be as enjoyable. I view the game as a satire of consumerism and predatory lending, which I don’t think it really is, but it should be. It really satisfies that collecting/completionist itch for me.

The only other games I’ve played a lot have already been recommended, but I’ll add another for Mario Kart and Breath of the Wild. Breath of the Wild is probably the best game I played on the Switch, tons of content there and some of the puzzles are quite good (some are not) and if you’re into 100% completion it’ll keep you busy until Baron is the new president .

Edit: my best advice is to get a proper controller and it doesn’t have to be the Nintendo brand. The joycons suck for a lot of reasons
