Agreed. I’m American and think American manufacturers make the ugliest and worst cars. Outside of the Corvette, which remains the best spots car in it’s price range.

Yeah, always seemed so wrong that so many people just stagnate. Like they reach some imaginary milestone and just stop improving and float through life. There’s room to improve almost everything in life, why the heck would you settle?

It wasn’t a bad movie, the characters were just incredibly forgettable. Rogue One was a good standalone movie, but it was kinda bittersweet because they stole part of Kyle Katarn’s backstory and he was always one of my favorite characters.

Yup. How many phone numbers do you have memorized? If you’re from the era before cellphones you had to memorize numbers or carry a cheat sheet. You probably had anywhere from 10-30 numbers memorized. Now people don’t even know their spouses numbers.

Yup. Was a huge fan of the EU books and lore. Wanted to give Disney a chance, so I saw the first few movies. It was like seeing your ex at the club but she’d gone through massive amounts of plastic surgery and they’d removed all the unique features that attracted you originally. Haven’t watched anything Star Wars since the second movie in the new trilogy, literally 0 desire to see the conclusion or any new Star wars content.

Yup, I consider myself better than most at critical thinking, playing devil’s advocate, and identifying sources of propaganda. I’ll still find myself getting overly agitated and upset when I read five articles and posts within thirty minutes that all tell me why to be upset and who to be upset with.

Not a repair tech, but this matches my experience maintaining and repairing my appliances. My early 80s whirlpool range and oven have had small issues here and there, but generally require swapping one part hidden behind some screws and will take under an hour. My Samsung dishwasher not only does a piss poor job, it also throws LC codes every few days. After the fourth time pulling it from the cabinet I had to put a series of shims to lift the leak sensor off the drip tray and buy a separate Wi-Fi moisture detector. My Samsung fridge (4yo) has a broken door ice dispenser and intermittently decides not to dispense water too. Old LG unit had a linear compressor that shit the bed three times before they refused to do any more warranty work on it.

The people don’t generally have much of a say in what headlines the media runs with. I fully support more social programs but there’s underlying issues that prevent good faith discussions.

I set low initial expectations at my job, automated and simplified nearly every task. I work less than 20 hours a week on average. I have time for basically all my hobbies and get to spend tons of time with my kid and wife. It may be a grey cubicle and annoying but it pays well and i can get fulfillment elsewhere. Feel like anybody trying to get fulfilling experiences from work is looking at the picture upside down

This kind of content taking off and the popularity of the Kardashians were the proverbial canary in the coal mine for the intellectual apocalypse we’re dealing with now. We are what we eat, and what you watch absolutely influences how you think and act.
