Another “if you have a desktop pc” tip is you can now install a game to the SD from the PC without downloading it from the internet again. I haven’t actually had a reason to try this, but I know it’s an option that seems pretty cool.
It’s-a me, Zak8022! I suck at writing bios.

What is CP?
Man, I saw something about the other day and it doesn’t make me feel good about still having some work notes in Evernote. I’m going to have to find an alternative, but I need collaboration and low cost (cuz my company is cheap AF). And I know those two things don’t usually go together.
This is really how all sites should work.
Ok, I see a lot of people offering suggestions, but ones that seem to mostly apply to single-user situations. All I use Evernote for these days is shared work notes across my organization. I know about Notion, but it’s a bit more complex than I’d like for tracking notes over long periods of time (years of notes coming from a few users, but being visible to many other users who are not technically savvy).
Also, am I missing the link to an actual article, or is it only to the ycombinator post? (I admittedly don’t know much about ycombinator or how it works.)
Awesome idea, joined!
Man, the amount of times I sat in front of the TV playing console games while holding one of my kids… too many to count. It really sucks (from a gaming perspective) when they become mobile. 😭
NSFW games you say? Like… what are we talking about here? And where a cultured person go to learn more of such things?
For me, it’s been useful to get in some gaming time while still being around my family/kids. I have a gaming PC too, but it’s in my office which is kind of cut off from the main living areas of our house. The SD allows me to play and still easily pause to do whatever for my kids or talk to my wife, etc. The sleep/wake is *chef’s kiss.
My other use case is emulation. It’s really good at it, and even passable at emulating the Switch. Though the sleep/wake doesn’t work with those, it’s a trade off.
I’ve been an Ivory Stan for a while, lol. But ngl, I’m starting to get itchy since updates have slowed significantly. Other apps have gotten lots of other QOL features, or he’ll even some basic features, in a much quicker time. But I’ve paid for Ivory already, and don’t really want to pay for another.
My options are more limited too cuz it’s a requirement for there to be some sync to a desktop app. Not too many others that do that (Mona is the first that comes to mind that is in “second” place for me).
Ya know, I really need to get used to checking what community I’m in before replying. 😭
Firefox + Vivaldi has been my go-to for about a year now. Only reason I need Vivaldi is for work, since we use Google Suite. Hangouts on Firefox doesn’t see/give me the right audio options. And large Sheets are noticeably slower/less responsive on FF then on any Chromium-based browser. Vivaldi feels like the best option among Chromium options.
Shameless self promotion of the page I just published earlier today including this information (along with other stuff). Though to be clear, this page is for Lemmy/Kbin/Tildes. Not the greater Fediverse.
Oh. I didn’t really realize that. But in looking at a few Magazines I follow, I only see content from my kbin.social instance, not any other instance. It’s also possible that what you’re saying is the intended functionality of kbin, but it might not be working yet since it isn’t a mission critical feature.
IMO, this would solve the problem, while keeping the benefits of being decentralized. I could go to my “Community Group” called “Tech”, I could see all the aggregated results of Beehaw’s, kbin’s, etc, tech Communities.
Seems that so long as the attribution is in place the Postmill people aren’t going to push it further. I (and I hope the community) appreciate your transparency and honesty. That’s the sort of thing that makes me want to stick around here and support this project.
And for fun, I will check out those other sites, since I hadn’t heard about Postmill/Raddle before.
AFAIK, kbin uses a different url scheme so Mlem might not be set up to handle that. The alternative I’ve seen suggested is to use kbin’s progressive web app (PWA) and install it as a pseudo-app. It works well enough for now. I do hope more native can exist in the future.
Oh, someone created one! https://kbin.social/m/honkaistarrail@mander.xyz
Wasn’t The Expanse a book series first, then all the other media after?
