Well that’s kind of a weird quirk to have.

RedMarsRepublic@lemmy.worldto You Should Know@lemmy.world•YSK that “neoliberal” refers to a discrete set of economic policies including deregulation, privatization, and so-called “free trade” implemented by both center-right and center-left partiesEnglish1·2 years agoSocial democracy was a false idol anyways, nothing but socialism can work in the long term, socdem always gets repealed by the rich.
RedMarsRepublic@lemmy.worldOPto Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•Honest question, will the tech situation improve soon?English0·2 years agoI know there’s been a spike in users but like cmon. Lemmy has been running for like 2 years. Hexbear has just migrated over and all of their users are already complaining that the site is terrible.

The USSR wasn’t perfect (and Stalin ruined most things that were good obviously) but they weren’t any worse than the USA or the west.

Liberals when talking about human rights: :) Liberals when talking about the enforcement of human rights: :(
RedMarsRepublic@lemmy.worldto Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•Finding an instance that blocks least and is least blockedEnglish01·2 years agoHow is that any different from what I’ve been saying? Liberals from beehaw also have ‘mass downvoted’ people for being communist or pro China etc, but does that mean everyone from that community should be blocked? As for good faith discussion you’re just defining comments you don’t agree with as being inherently bad faith. I mean I’m sure there’s some comments just like ‘kill yourself lol’ that are completely without merit but like I said it just seems like an instinctual anti communist reaction.
Well I haven’t been on this site for very long so maybe I’ll see what you mean eventually. I still think it’s best in general to not fracture this already-tiny community though.
RedMarsRepublic@lemmy.worldto Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•Finding an instance that blocks least and is least blockedEnglish11·2 years agoBut how do you differentiate ‘brigading’ from just being outside the ideological orthodox of a given community? Shouldn’t bad actors just be banned personally?
RedMarsRepublic@lemmy.worldto Technology@beehaw.org•Twitter US ad sales plunged 59%, and internal forecasts are grim, NYT reportsEnglish1·2 years agoI wish artists wouldn’t use Twitter, it might be convenient for them but it’s absolutely abysmal for the users, it’s impossible to do any kind of searching as is very easy on boorus.
RedMarsRepublic@lemmy.worldto Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•Finding an instance that blocks least and is least blockedEnglish1·2 years agoTo be fair it’s not like I know what lemmygrad does, I only joined yesterday, but it just seems like typical ‘tankiephobia’, I don’t exactly agree with MLs on everything either but some of what they get accused of is just beyond the pale. I mean generally if someone is a western liberal they don’t get endlessly accused of being a mass war crime apologist even though that’s basically what the ‘war on terror’ was.
RedMarsRepublic@lemmy.worldto Chat@beehaw.org•In contemplating a decentralized futureEnglish14·2 years agoAny kind of governance that fundamentally relies on how much wealth the participants have (like DAOs) is completely unworkable.
RedMarsRepublic@lemmy.worldto Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•Finding an instance that blocks least and is least blockedEnglish1·2 years agoBehaviour like what though? Disagreeing? I don’t even know what ‘sealioning’ means, it basically seems like just saying ‘this person has different fundamental assumptions to me therefore they’re acting in bad faith’.
RedMarsRepublic@lemmy.worldto Technology@beehaw.org•In response to the disastrous Spez AMA, /r/Videos have announced that they will permanently shut down on 11th June, one day ahead of the planned blackout1·2 years agoWell it’s not really that important of a news story, he was killed by someone in his personal life just like 90% of murders, but rightists wanted to use it as a reason to institute anti homeless pogroms because ‘San Francisco is out of control!!!’
RedMarsRepublic@lemmy.worldto Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•Finding an instance that blocks least and is least blockedEnglish1·2 years agoWhat a ridiculous false dichotomy, obviously subs which are just creating outright machine spam should be blocked but the current policy is just creating complete echo chambers where the orthodoxy of the admins isn’t challenged.
RedMarsRepublic@lemmy.worldto Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•Finding an instance that blocks least and is least blockedEnglish12·2 years agoAnd that doesn’t apply to liberals and every other ideology on this site? Every person has a political view which affects their opinions
Why would Russia blow up the NPP when they’re winning the war? This is another atrocity by the Ukrainian military to muddy the waters and try to attract yet more international support like the dam bombing.
