Thanks! I’m actually going to swap it out for a Buddha Jewelry Mini Valentina when I downsize. That piece wasn’t in stock when I got the piercing so I’ve been wearing this Industrial Strength Marquise Fan in the meantime. Now the question is what I’ll do with the piece… Maybe a second lobe? Or get another one and wear them in my first lobes. Decisions, decisions!

I have first lobes on both ears and since last month a helix/flat on my right! I am quite sensitive to nickel so for most of my life, I tried having earrings but always reacted badly. I didn’t get my lobes properly done at a piercer until 2021 and them using titanium helped. My right lobe is still finicky but we’re working on it.

  • Yeah, I also will be staying on Lemmy. There’s bugs and performance issues but the quality of conversation is better and interaction feels genuine. There’s also actual possibilities to contribute instead of getting lost in a sea of rehashed comments.
The main thing that is missing now (and I assume will remain missing) are the hobby communities, especially those aimed at non-techies, like sewing, cross stitch,… I feel the people there aren’t going to bother with figuring out Lemmy/Kbin/Fediverse… because they tend to be less tech savvy.

  • I use both but I’m terrible at taking meds regularly (ha, the irony!).
For losing track of time during meetings/focus sessions, I use a Time Timer to visually see time passing by/showing how much time is left.
For reminders, I use Due on iOS (+ Apple Watch) as it continues to send reminders until you do the thing and check it off.
For to-do lists, I use both paper planning with a bullet journal-esque notation as well as a whiteboard for “temporary” planning, like creating a prioritization matrix, as it allows me to shift things around more easily.

  • I tried Mastodon first but I never really was much of a Twitter user. I find that format in general makes it difficult to find information about specific topics and there’s not as much discussion. I’m liking Lemmy way more because I like the forum style format. It’s certainly interesting watching all the “duplicate” communities across the instances though, I’m hoping it’ll settle down a bit.
