I’ve recently noticed that whenever a person tells me that they need to sit in the front passenger seat because they get car sick, i can correctly anticipate that they will also spend the whole car ride being the most obnoxious backseat driver the entire time.

My brother is joining the marines, and idk how to interact with him about it. He’s in bootcamp and my parents want me to write and support him but like… I hate what he’s doing, idk what to say.

Last time i went to the beach, i went for a walk around 3 AM while there was a full moon - it was like I’d stepped into an alternate dimension where i was the only person alive, even the beach cops had stopped patrolling. I wish i could slip into full-moon night-beach world on-demand.

If you want to learn rhythm you could always pick up some drumsticks and a practice pad and practice some basic rudiments and techniques. Bass Guitar is also pretty nice for this, I found it pretty easy to at least pick up and play, but it challenges my rhythm abilities a lot. I think they best strategy for any instrument is to learn to count rhythm, and play with a metronome as much as possible

I sympathize with this deeply, but we can’t see defeatism as the path forward. Those last hopeless human conflicts won’t be good for the non-humans on the planet today either - I dont see humanity going out quietly. We gotta keep trying, and maybe it’ll be better in the next life, and for the new people, and maybe they’ll be better than us for it.
