  • I can not believe u just made me read several long ass articles about a woman who was salty she got cheated on and decided to take revenge by having her ex kicked from psl. Like even IF literally everything she said was true i dont think he even did anything illegal (tho certainly enough to get kicked from an org) but there is no evidence at all that anything is true, u and every article makes it sound like this guy is beyond any doubt a rapists, like its just like any other scandal of a rape coverup we have heard about, but its literally just her voice against his and there is no reason at all to believe either, and i (and i hope everyone else) am not inclined to treat someone as one of the worst kinds of people there are just because someone said so.

Considering how long it took me to work thru this one i dont really feel like looking at all the other incidents in other branches listed in the source for the article u linked but the Philadelphia story is just a nothing burger, it bothers me so much that someone can just be like “actually PSL sucks they cover for rapists” and then im worried cuz i dont want to vote for or be part of the so called “Predator Support League” so i want to look into it and like an hour of reading later its just nothing like literally nothing and im kinda upset.

  • The machine increases the exploitation of the worker by reducing the amount of labor hours it takes to make a thing.

For a simple example suppose holes in the ground have a value, if a capitalist pays a worker to dig holes and the worker can dig 1 hole an hour with a shovel but 2 with an excavator then while paying for the same 1 hour of work the worker will create twice the value for the capitalist.

But really the distinction is mostly semantic and it doesn’t matter much whether Marx was right and the machines create no value or some other economists were right and it takes machines/tools as well as labor to create value hardly matter because either way the capitalist brings nothing to the table.

  • libraries are great but they predate communism, not everything which is good or communal/community centered is communists. The simple act of sharing and cooperating with ur geographical community isnt communist or even revolutionary its just basic human shit. I think neo liberalism and individualism and consumerism have poisoned our brains so much that we can look at something which is just human and assign to it political values that have existed for at most a couple centuries, because it has become so rare.

  • yeah but there are very few games that are on ps5 and not on pc and of that tiny handful there are only a smaller number i would want to play and the subsets of those games i would actually go thru the trouble of playing on a console for is smaller still. I have had a ps4 almost since launch and i think i have played only 4 games on it ever 2 of them because they were gifted to me and i wanted to try them, the witcher 3 because my PC at the time was a potato and zero dawn because its a amazing game, so considering that i think it would just be a waste to get a ps5 and i would probably feel bad about not using it too.

  • are we returning to the good all days of PC being cheaper on top of being better in every way, seems unlikely but the price gap is closing, its kinda sad the super low price (for its specs) of the ps5 was basically the only good thing about it, to the point that i considered getting one until i remembered that i was gonna play like 2 games on it ever.
