The developer, TalkLittle, has made another app but it’s for Tildes instead of Lemmy or Kbin. It’s invite -only so quite low population even compared to Fediverse instances. Plus iirc it’s only text. No images, no video, etc
1·1 year agoUltimately they’ll spin it as this guy being framed, etc and his only chance of staying alive being fleeing to a non-extradition country. They were already implying he was disappeared, so that’s not a stretch.
5·1 year agoIIRC they’re a totally private company and in one interview about the graphics card exit it honestly sounds like the founders/owners would rather go out of business than tarnish their reputation even by selling to someone else. So yeah it’s possible they’re just winding the whole thing down.
Yeah that’s just pre-registration – so you’ll get it automatically when the first release drops.
6·1 year agoIf this is available it definitely needs to be an option, and I think it probably needs to not be the default. I know I like to know which instances I’m interacting with, and I think it makes sense because that’s part of the point of the Fediverse.

Like the title said, it basically started off with Nazism. No devolution of discussion required.
There are screenshots of the mod log showing the “Moderator Code of Conduct” admin account going in and reverting the NSFW settings on multiple subs. Yeah screenshots aren’t always trustworthy but that’s really the best you’re going to get with this. It’s not out of character for Spez though, so I’m not giving Reddit the benefit of the doubt.
53·1 year agoOne of the legal advice subs – I can’t remember which – was going forward requiring post approval from mods because they value community safety. But as they are unpaid volunteers they estimate it could take up to 14 days for post approval.
I agree it’s too much, but on the other hand the potential user base for the app is much lower than previously with Reddit. So I can understand it, even if I don’t like it.
