2·7 months agoHotspots are as secure as any WiFi network. That is to say, it depends on the encryption standard you use (WPA2/WPA3) and the password/shared key. If you use a strong 40-character password with WPA3, no one’s cracking that. With a password like that, even WPA2 is sufficient.

1·2 years agoFor some reason, my brain just doesn’t like having folders in my home directory that don’t start with a capital letter.
My home directories look something like this:

Desktopis pretty much unused, but it was created automatically so it’s thereDocuments/Nextcloudis the directory that’s synced to my Nextcloud instanceWorkspaceis where I experiment with random stuff that usually doesn’t last long. If it does, I move it toCode.

Yeah, it’s definitely an annoying process (though much easier than most other U.S. states). Luckily, you only have to file the papers in court. You don’t actually have to show up to a hearing unless someone objects with good cause (meaning they think you’re changing your name for fraudulent reasons). The main problem is the extremely high $435 filing fee and $40.50 for every certified copy (you need three, so $121.50).
