Re DAS: no you can’t connect multiple systems to it. iSCSI and NFS on a SAN or NAS support multiple connections but the OS or app needs to support it.
You should limit your connections to one machine per volume when using iSCSI or nfs. Smb would probably the best for multiple connections.

This rings true. No one thinks that MS is doing anything special. They need a unique product and they need to get it into a lot of peoples hands.
If i were MS, I’d switch to ARM or better yet RISC-V and make some extremely efficient devivces that run both Windows and their complete office stack.
They are someone on this trajectory by converting Outlook to a PWA but it’s not fast enough.

If I pick one out, then pick a 2nd, my 2nd pick will be last to move. Even an empty lane will suddenly have issues like drawer change, shift change or some other calamity.
I now pick a lane and then have my SO pick any other lane for us to use.
