i reside in a coastal community in south florida, and can confirm that in my experience wealthy cubans are just as racist and classist as wealthy whites. their kids all go to private school together. they have the same 3% stickers on their pavement princesses.

living in florida currently. went to a bar around noon one day after work and sat a few empty seats away from an older guy who was sent to this place as a kid because he couldn’t sit still. conversation started out with him telling a bad joke about a gay army recruit and ended at the florida boys school. it was really sad and i wish i could forget the encounter.
