It’s floating around $250-300 USD. It’s hard to justify dropping that much on a hobby in one hit.

The paint in question was Createx 5131 Transparent White. The top coat was Mr Super Clear Matte. There was 23ish hours between the last coat of color and the application of topcoat.

Edit: So I looked up the data sheet for the paint in question, and based on temp and humidity I should have waited at least 48 hours before topcoat. I will sand everything down, repaint and try to topcoat again after waiting 2 days.

I thought “I don’t need to spray a spoon to test the color. I’ll just spray white until I cant see color change.” I thought wrong

It’s just Gundam Markers and time. You can do this too. In fact, I encourage it. Everyone should build GunPla and post it here. Even if you don’t feel confident in your build. You don’t have to enter into the GBWC, just have fun.

That sounds like a lot of work/fun. It may be unneeded information for you, but if you need extra parts, I recently found Plamo kit bash on shopify and their whole business is selling single parts. Not exactly cheap, but the turnaround was super quick.

So it’s a candy. That explains the difference in shade with camera angle.

Did you mix this light met. blue or is it an off the shelf color?

While hobby lobby may not be the most ethical company out there, my wife likes their Knick knacks so I get dragged along sometimes. And if I see Gundams below market price imma jump on that if they have a kit that looks cool.
