I’ve been considering self-hosted Matrix, in order to keep metadata obscured to anyone outside the org. is that advantage preserved when using a cloud server?

Despite the chatroom format I do think that self-hosted, unfederated Matrix is the best option right now from the perspective of surveillance resistance.
even if there was a close encounter, the speed differential makes a photo unlikely. do we know the trajectory of the rocket?
That’s nice that there even are homes within walking distance lol.

a video like this was helpful for me when I started using linux full time.
interacting with one’s system via the terminal in linux is much easier than command prompt on windows, so it pays dividends to get a little familiar with the command line and apps (navigating directories, running a script, text editor, etc.). a little coding can be very helpful too. it’s very satisfying opening a terminal window, launching python, and printing a list of filenames in the current directory with just a few keystrokes!
Dolphin, the file explorer on the distro I use even has a toggleable, built-in terminal which is pretty handy. it automatically keeps the current folder as the working directory!
my sister’s bf library shared with her and it caused a “talk” becaue his taste was so bad XD
it was a sarcastic comment I made, but I agree it was trash and I deleted it soon after making it.

seems bad
my neighbor used he/him pronouns for his (late) large male dog. he uses it/its pronouns for the smaller female. I recently noticed him use it/its with my dog who is male, same size as the female, and is fairly masculine by both standards.
people be getting weird with pet genders. like it really doesn’t matter but I think most people just make their pet cis (for lack of a better term) and stick with it, that’s what I’ve always done but I like human names for pets. maybe with my next one I’ll swap things around. he/him for a female and she/her for male.
Thanks, edited.
