I put them all in a plastic bag and hope for the best.
Alkaline electric tape at both ends, lithium in a metal box with the contacts taped as well until i can get them recycled. Spicy pillows in a bucket with sand. Not sure how safe I am but I think its better than nothing
The sand bucket trick is how I do it as well. Haven’t burned down my house yet.
in a bucket of water to avoid any fire! /S
just in a plastic box, and in here all commercial center must have recycling been for electronic stuff so it’s easy, you still have to think about it.
In an old tin of beans, minus the beans.
How’d you manage that?
I ate the beans, then put the batteries in the bean can.
Safe way is to store them taped on the ends. Otherwise as any other recyclables.
In the landfill to be honest
Aye carumba
Most supermarkets in the UK have battery recycling bins, and they’re not uncommon in France and Germany. I’ve been systematically replacing all my batteries with rechargeable the past few years, though, and I encourage other to do the same.
In a plastic Tupperware container under the stairs next to the fresh batteries.
i keep them in a cardboard box, and periodically take the box to the battery recycling place every few years. usually replace the box though.
The regular alkalines just go in the trash, but I try to avoid those when possible for rechargables. Everything else is in a fireproof battery bag. Apparently there’s only 1 day a year where we can recycle them here. I can’t imagine everyone is doing that. I should probably just landfill it like everyone else.
Be the change.
Having to hoard batteries for a year on the hopes of seeing the notice, being free, and able to travel across town for that those few hours a year is kind of a big ask. I still have lithium batteries I’ve been trying to get rid of for like 5 years now.
where do you live?
