Belarusian Ambassador to Russia Dmitry Krutoy denied Putin’s statement that the detained Tajiks, suspected of committing a terrorist attack in the Moscow suburb of Crocus City Hall, allegedly tried to leave for Ukraine. The diplomat said that these people tried to leave Russia for Belarus, but the Belarusian security services helped their Russian colleagues to prevent them from crossing the border. This diverges from the words of Russian dictator Vladimir Putin that the terrorists seemed to have escaped to Belarus, where they were being prepared a corridor to Ukraine.

According to BELTA, Krutoy said that his country’s special services helped the Russians catch the suspects in the terrorist attack near Moscow. And the suspects could have been planning to escape across the Belarusian-Russian border.

“Active interaction since yesterday has been carried out along the lines of special services. The head of the State Security Committee is in direct communication with his colleague. And in fact, the main task last night was to prevent terrorists from going across the common border. This task has been accomplished,” the publication quotes the Belarusian ambassador.

This diverges from Putin’s statement about a “window” on the border to receive suspects in the terrorist attack in the music center “Crocus City Hall” near Moscow, which he made in a video message to the Russians. It seems that either the Belarusian diplomat decided to tell the truth, or the authorities of Russia and Belarus did not fully coordinate the disinformation about this terrorist act.
