Do you find tarragon and oregano difficult to grow? I’ve been eyeing both of those but don’t want something too finicky

Oregano is very little work to grow, at least around here.
It is about as invasive as mint and about as indestructible.
We have a box outside that somehow got a mix of green mint and oregano and while they fight for territory depending on the time of year, they’re both thriving. (well… not now, it’s -20 with a ton of snow on top, but like, when the outside isn’t a freezer, they thrive)
Like… I’ll need the weed-wacker to keep both under control and in the box.
TBH, I’m not sure I could even kill those if I tried.

No clue about tarragon, but that would be something nice to try.

That’s good to hear about oregano. I’m going to get a few oregano plants this spring then. I’ve had mint plants before and they are impossible to kill. One of the perfect plants as long as you can keep it under control 🤣

They both come back on their own every year in my sandy soil. I did plant them in an area separate from my flower and vegetable gardens so I can keep them from escaping.

Indoors however I can’t seem to get them to stay alive. I’d love to have some fresh to feed our bunny in the winter months but we just don’t seem to get enough sunlight. Only having one window that faces south doesn’t help.
