If I had a dollar for every time capitalism worked, it would all be spent on overpriced crap in order to survive and only a few cents would be given to the workers who actually made and provided it and the rest would go to a billionaire and executive parasites who were born into privilege and provide nothing of value to the process.

Under socialism your needs would be met such that you didn’t need money

But go ahead and continue to be a beta worker with stockholm syndrome since you enjoy it so much

To be entirely fair, it didn’t work out that way in the USSR or China very well at the lows of communism, and it was as they eased up and allowed less communistic policies that the situation improved.

A regime referring to itself as socialist doesn’t make it so.

If a con man told you they were honest, would you believe them?

Also China is, like you say, communist, and thus irrelevant.

I have a simple policy on this… I let people define their own terms. I just do not really like debates about semantics enough… Plus I believe especially that If I am not X, I do not have that much of a right to define what X is or isn’t. I only safeguard against absurdities.

In terms of this, though, I am sympathetic to the idea that the USSR, Communist China, Communist Vietnam, etc., were Communist since many sincere people attempted to make Communism work there.

Is Communism different from socialism? Certainly. And I respect those differences. But it also makes sense to come to conclusions based off of the extreme socialist models about socialism, IMO.
