Those negotiations aren’t mainly about pay. They’re about safety and workload.
Whenever it comes to strikes in Australia the press laser focuses on the pay, as the press has a strong anti-union bias. It seems this source copied from them. Frankly basically nobody in Australia is worried that much about pay because the minimum wage is the highest in the world.
