there should be a law that if a car goes past a certain size it’s officially a public transit and people can barge in and expect you to drop them off along your ride.

i just like how silly and absurd this truck looks

its like a satirical cartoon truck meant to poke fun of enormous trucks, except its real and unironic.

It’s got nothing on an F650 super truck. I’ve driven past one on I35 outside of San Antonio, TX.

      For a size reference, here’s Doug DeMuro, 6’3” (1.9m):

These are medium and heavy duty trucks, they’re like semi-lite lol (semi-semi?)

They make a lot more sense in literally any configuration other than pick-up truck.

          Example:

“Semi trailer” actually refers to the trailer itself, not the tractor. a “full trailer” has it’s own steer axle, think like a hay wagon. a “semi trailer” has it’s steer axle provided by the tractor pulling it. a “cart trailer” is like 2 wheeled buggies put half the weight on the propulsion device, often a horse. Anyways, when people say “semi truck”, they either don’t know or are referring to the fact of what it pulls, not itself…use it to pull anything else and it is no longer a “semi tractor”

True , forgot about that. Then again, how often do you see that type of truck pull anything other than a semi trailer? I don’t think I ever have

Where I am, they are often used to move farm equipmnt, but not on a trailer. They strap 2, 2000 lb concrete blocks to the frame over the axle, for traction, and then use them for moving pin hitch farm equipment. “A trains” are also not “semi” trailers, least the back one, and the triple trailers you see UPS and hay farmers use in the west half are full trailers.

Ah yeah, I only ever see full trailers in this configuration:

Not really common practice to hook them up to a conventional “tractor” (we call it a “saddle” truck here), usually they’re hooked up to the type of truck where there’s a fixes trailer as well (as seen on the picture)

Might just have something to do with length limitations in the EU compared to the US (it’s also why we have cabovers rather than the cool looking US trucks)

Trucks actually started selling more when the first started mimicing the looks of semis. I think dodge was one of the first to adopt that mindset which was basically everything on the front end gets bigger.

If I remember correctly, it is custom built from a base f650 (front end and frame) and they put an f350 bed on it as part of the passenger truck conversion

I’ve been saying Canada is just Diet US. Credit where it’s due, they elected the lesser dumbass. Also, healthcare. Good on y’all. Obviously Canada is better than the US but my fellow Americans act like it’s the promised land or something. The cost of living is still to damn high, and they still have the same right-wing populist idiots we have. Also, I get our bills and coins suck. Dead old white man and all but how is the fucking royals supposed to be better? I think fascist monarchs are way worse. To any Canadians offended by this, please don’t be. It was not my intent to offend you and I very much realize I am throwing stones from a glass house here. Love you guys!

I’ve been saying this. Honestly, if the US ever goes full 1930s-Germany they’re going to be our Poland. I wouldn’t even want to move there if I have to leave, at least not long-term.

Oh “we” didn’t. Carney is right there on camera with the Maxwell/Epstein/Trump/Clinton set, dudes sister in law is Ghislaine’s best friend, connected to British nobility, cousin to our previous prime minister, the whole “conspiracy” is on the fucking wikipedia pages about them. I haven’t had health insurance in 9 years. It’s provincial, not federal, despite my countrymen that think it’s a “right” because of rhetoric, not reality.

Does canada have really lax limo safety laws? i recall hearing about stretch SUVs in the US that killed like entire friend groups during prom in the US because there’s absolutely no regulation of these things in some places.

Too much truck, not enough dick, as they say.

Slide under the midpoint with a battery powered angle grinder or a sawzall and cut 3/4 of the way through one side of the frame. Then you just let physics do the rest when they hit a good hard bump.

Xanthan gum and muriatic acid will make a nice corrosive paste that might do the trick if you’re into edging with your sabotage.

Sawing that thing without being caught is hard. So, about that xanthan and muriatic paste, what kind of gloves should I use for protection?

Nitrile gloves, thicker the better. It will break them down but it will take a while. The fumes are chlorine gas, but aren’t that bad if you’re outside. What you really have to watch out for is getting it in your eyes, wear goggles.

Baking soda will neutralize it, so you might want a gallon of water and some baking soda on hand. It will burn your skin if you leave it on you, but it takes a minute and you have time to just wash it off.

Paint brush would be a good way to apply it.

I would not say common, but they certainly exist. I’ve only seen maybe a couple in person here in, let’s say the very central U.S. There are no factory produced trucks like that as far as I’m aware, these are all (very expensive, I’m sure) aftermarket or custom conversions, on top of the already $60k-100k truck.
