Hi! I just came over from lemmy, and upon importing my settings, my settings page got populated with my list of blocked communities as expected. However, when browsing all, I can see posts from those blocked communities there. Is this a bug, or am I missing something?
Unrelated, but there might be another issue with the default language, as this shows up “Bahasa Indonesia” for me.
Ah. I have not found a way to set my default posting language, and voyager does not give me the choice to pick my language upon posting. Seems to default to the first language by alphabetical order that I’ve OKed in my settings.
This was fixed recently :)
That doesn’t sound good.
When you are browsing all, are you doing it on a mobile app or the web site?
Voyager. The issue seems to be fixed now though, and I recall you saying something recently about some changes to the API, so this might have something to do with that.
While I’ve got you, Rimu, is there any plan to add instance blocking that won’t affect users? I refuse to participate in the tankie trio instances, but I don’t want to lose sight of all .ml users. It’s pretty much the only thing preventing PF from reaching feature parity for me.
No plans for that. I do not see Lemmy’s weak implementation of blocking as a feature, it’s more of an intentional bug. This is an opportunity to do things better.
There’s probably some value for people in that mindset
I don’t understand. Could you not just add a toggle to allow users to block just the communities, or all comms AND users from an instance? Why is more user choice and control a bad thing?
I created an issue for your request: https://codeberg.org/rimu/pyfedi/issues/1169
