Globally, we need to start tariffs on all the USA tech companies.
They undermine and eee local equivalents. Tax all the ads and income from their sales at 35% or whatever they decide to tariff.
They might find out pretty quickly that they are not in favour of tariffs and the competition it brings in local markets. For the USA, it will be problematic as scaling up manufacturing is very difficult. Scaling up digital technologies is quick and cheap.
We’d also find much less profit offshoring as all the ‘IP’ they pay to their co pay offshore would also be subject to that tax, so profit shifting becomes much more expensive, too.
