Root it and hide it.
I also used a custom rom. But after rooting android some apps will not work anymore. Mainly apps like Microsoft. Or okta. Or these stupid apps I need for work, which is detecting a rooted android somehow.
Use Shamiko (magisk module), XPrivacyLua and HideMyApplist (lsposed modules) (lsposed is a magisk module)

Ad block via dns can done on your own network if you want. Like using opnsense or pihole.

Anything here? Not sure, don’t have an Android anymore. 10/10 would GraphineOS if I was in the market for a new phone however.
For a browser, Waterfox and Ironfox are better alternatives. Don’t forget extensions. Might as well have Brave as a backup if you need a Chromium browser.
