    Any chance you asked about why they need to know what wifi networks are around and which ones I am connected to?

    EDIT: Sorry, missed the link. You did ask that question, and they literally ignored it in their answer.

      That’s an Android thing - to get location data for the map, you need the network permission.

      I know, it’s fucked up - it was made this way in about Android 12.

      WiFi networks are often used to get your location. Not sure for what purpose.
