I remember Obama signing erosions of the constiution, fully knowing it’s implications and the Democrats waved away protests of it as “oh don’t worry we don’t plan to do it under our watch”. that cowardly fucker should have just countermanded Trump, told the national guard to return to barracks or back to their pool supply shops or whatever. Even if you’re a civility lib the LAPD could handle beating the protesters themselves, there was no reason for the national guard besides Trump and his ego wanting to see blood in the streets. And if trump arrests the governor, so what? unless he fucking executes him for treason he’d be basically a guaranteed future president once trump has a heart attack for that easy move

There are a lot of reasons to shit on Newsome and the Dems but picking on something they legitimately even in theory have no power over is not the best choice.
The national guard was federalized. He has exactly ZERO power to stop that. He can’t tell them to return to barracks anymore than you can the moment that happens. Once federalized they’re under the authority of the federal government and his power over them is overridden as they’re effectively acting military under the commander in chief. Regardless of what Fox News says Gruesome Newsome is not a charismatic strongman and they’re not going to listen to him when they have other orders.
The law is very clear on this. Look up the Little Rock Nine, another case where in that case the state guard was nationalized and ordered back to barracks against the wishes of a racist governor trying to use them to stop black kids from going to integrated schools. That was angry white people trying to stop black kids from being in school with white kids, if it was that simple they would have done it.
We must strive to build our arguments on solid ground, ground that liberals cannot pick apart. Let’s rest our case on how Dems did nothing to prevent this, on the Biden incompetence, on his handlers and Dem media hiding his senility and letting them run him again, on how they funded this, passed laws to enable this and compared to Republicans offer nothing but words to resist. The Republicans are showing right now what you can do with power, the same things the Dems refused to even go near which should be used to make clear to liberals that the Democrats are not on their side, that its kayfabe, that there aren’t even any good ones. We can look to Gaza and the genocide there and Bernie and AOC who are supposedly the progressive good ones enabling that, defending that. That’s where our case is ironclad.

They gave them even more money after BLM and did nothing substantial to force reforms (among other things he could have tried to bully the LA board of supervisors into disbanding the Sheriff dept who even compared to notorious LAPD are just completely out of control and have thwarted all efforts at reform) but they did nothing. They could have left Trump with less friends in blue states but they are not on the side of the people and this can be driven home and there is no riposte possible.
I was reading the indivisible founders little manifesto, part 1 and 2, the other day. It’s the most boring shit possible, though there’s an interesting corruption of mao, intended or not, in the second part:

Their whole messaging is about calling your local congressman. There’s no cohesive ideology, just anti trump and pro dem.
I hope for the best for the protestors but this whole thing seems like a line up and get the shit kicked out of you event for the hogs. I’m in Philly, I know bad opsec, where the big protest is supposed to happen and the fucking cops are looking really excited in center city this past week. They already got an early start at an event this week and showed up and just beat the fuck outta a bunch of people
