    Lol okay dude.

If you come into my house despite the no trespassing sign and i shoot you in the neck, it’s on you. Dont make stupid choices and you wont get stupid consequences.

Obviously the harm shouldnt be there, but its common knowledge that it is. Anyone still buying from amazon knowing how corrupt and openly evil they are kinda deserve it and you arent gonna change my mind by calling me a victim blamer :)

I am not coming to your house. I think the point I was making should be pretty clear.

And yes, it’s also an issue if you didn’t shop on Amazon, but your negligent landlord did, or a previous tenant, or the guy from Fiverr who redid the sink, or whatever. Or your parent or family member. There are plenty of very common scenarios where the person being harmed by the faucet has absolutely nothing to do with the decision to buy it on Amazon. We figured out a very long time ago that “who cares if you ‘decide’ to let the construction company put asbestos around the pipes, it’s your project so do whatever you want, freedom, America, amirite” fucks up a whole bunch of people who had nothing to do with the decision. That’s actually exactly what makes it dangerous and why any civilized society will take steps to prevent it.

Youre right, hadnt thought of legacy hardware being an issue, so yeah fair point.

But i am getting tired of people blindly doing things without even a little research and then getting alll upset when the product is trash. I spend hours comparing products and reading user experiences before purchasing, especially when it comes to home improvements. This is the responsibility of the customer, it should be the bare minimum when making longterm purchases like this. I dont fathom people who dont even take ten minutes to read up before hitting Order. My comments were directed at them.

Of course i think regulations should be stricter but i also know we dont live in a society who gives a fuck about safety. Therefore, people need to be more responsible for themselves. We all learned to stop picking up scam calls, it’s a part of being in this shifting landscape of shit we’re living in. People need to learn to be more careful in other areas too.

          the product is trash

I think this is the key difference. The product being trash is one thing. The product sitting around quietly poisoning anyone who inhabits the house it is installed in for the next 30-40 years is a whole different issue that needs a whole different type of solutions.

on the street in front of your house

Also, it still affects you. Look up the crime wave from lead poisoning in the 70s and 80s.

It sounds like you didn’t read what the other guy said. Or maybe need to read it again.

You’re missing the point. We have agencies in place so we don’t have to do the mental gymnastics for every single fucking risk out there 24x7 Your blasè attitude just comes off as stupid here.
