New York City population - estimated 8.4M in 2024.

The only states it’s lower than are:

Virginia
New Jersey
Michigan
North Carolina
Georgia
Ohio
Illinois
Pennsylvania
New York
Florida
Texas
California

It’s crazy how interacting with a lot of people of various different backgrounds has a tendency to push people to the left, whereas having a half-mile long driveway makes it easy to stay conservative.
