where do you draw the line

For me, life is too short to get offended that the other person isn’t listening.

Anyway, if everyone listened carefully to everything I say, I would have to be a lot more careful when I talk.

I’d say the line is from knowing the person. It’s one thing if someone isn’t listening, it’s another if they get distracted.

Nerotypicals do it too, just not as much.

When it happens to me, I’m honest and open about it “I’m really Slsorry, I just spaced out for a minute, would you mind repeating that?”

Sometimes I’ll ask them to repeat because I’m “not getting it”, which isn’t a lie.

my grandmother used to do it. she’d call me, ask me about my day, and then ignore and interrupt me once i began to answer her question. there are few things i can think of that were less infuriating. god rest her soul, she was a wonderful woman otherwise, but i still can’t shake that feeling of worthlessness i felt whenever she did that - and she never had any idea it mattered, because i’d never dare call out my own grandma.
