After the initial protests, committee Chair Rep. Brett Guthrie (R-Ky.), who released the legislation on Sunday evening—Mother’s Day—threatened the protesters with arrest for disrupting the hearing, calling the outcry illegal and “a criminal offense.”
I don’t understand Republicans, man, and to be honest, I don’t want to. I’m just straight up not gonna meet this in the middle.
I’ll explain it:
“You aren’t me. Your life doesn’t benefit me personally. Your death doesn’t hurt me personally. Therefore, die so my family can have what you had.”
Yeah, there’s no meeting that halfway
I don’t think I suggested that there was. The perspective I described is absolutist. Either they see you as family, or they don’t register you as human.
“I absolutely fucking refuse that any of the money I pay in taxes be used for anything but my own benefit.”
And by preference they’d rather pay no taxes at all (let everyone else pay though).
The Democrat sure stood strong, too!
Your mistake is trying to understand their policies as themselves
Its simple, repubs just want to trade up all rights, all their money for being able to lynch minorities and marry children.
So the GOP are domestic terrorists…oh wait, they said that.
Anyone supporting the GOP is dead to me.
