You’re confusing him with Corbyn, whom he threw under the bus.
Corbyn threw himself under the bus by choosing political theory over leadership.
Or do we mean the literal bus he sat in at the photo op where he declared Labour would take no position in a referendum for the first time in 70 years? Because that bus was going nowhere so being under it was quite safe.
