And society still treats us like we’re lazy or something, even when it’s more difficult to show that we’re making effort compared to the average person
People should be more lazy actually. Why the fuck is everyone working so hard? We are at peak capitalism, its already downhill since a decade back…
In peak capitalism, workers are maximum exploited and companies act like kings and get away from almost anything. So workers should work hard in this environment? I dont think so.
Unequivocally based. If people worked less, there’d also be less unemployment. The problem is that cost of living is so high, but in other countries where people make less, the cost of living is magically lower as well…
I disagree, however, instead of working harder to make some rich asshole more money, we should be working harder to support each other, our community, and address climate change. I wish more people would shop local, volunteer, and work for a nonprofit. I’m not talking about people who live paycheck to paycheck. I do think the vast majority of people could work harder to make this world more livable and beautiful.
I don’t understand the perspective that people should be more lazy. When people have lazy coworkers, they tend to suffer since they have to go above and beyond to get a task done. It’s like having a group project in school, and there’s the one guy that just does the bare minimum, so you have to work twice as hard so your grade doesn’t go down.
And if everyone simultaneously became lazy, that would be a disaster too. You don’t want hospitals or firefighters to suddenly decide they want to just run down the clock instead of doing the best job they can.
If you look at it only through the perspective of the morality of labor, it makes sense to say the rich are lazy and so it’s fair for the poor to be equally lazy, but when you look at the larger picture, it’s a lot less cut and dry.
The truth is, our current standard of living is based on the amount of work people do. If everyone suddenly became less productive, we would enter a recession or an economic depression.
I think at some point, people have to stop working so hard and say “this is not fair, and we have reached our limit now”.
We havent always been in end game capitalism mode. Its now in the last few decades that its very obvious that workers are not treated the way they should as human beings. If you view people as expendable resources, you dont deserve to have them working for you.
But sure, I can see the other side of this. Workers are paid and should work to the best of their capacity. But there is another dimension here when work turns into misery and the worker cant quit because he wont survive without a paycheck. Once you have created a society like that, you have endless misery for workers and they should stop working to create a forced change in society.
In Europe, people fought very hard for their five week vacations. Because of that fight, workers still enjoy that even today. It doesnt come without a fight.

Yes, since the problem is the motivation right now. Human beings are not robots, and when they are treated like that, things dont end well.
