Elon Musk, the head of Donald Trumpās so-called Department of Government Efficiency, said āitās an outrageous thing to claim that Iām a Naziā in a clip from an interview with Fox News that was released Friday, slamming how heās been covered by the media. He also said that if his detractors could āpress a buttonā and kill him, they would, but he is ādifficult to kill.ā
At Trumpās post-inauguration rally, Musk gave a straight-arm salute that many, including his estranged daughter, interpreted to be a Sieg Heil. Since he bought Twitter, now social platform X, he has restored white supremacist accounts that were previously banned. In March, as he was carrying out widespread firings of federal workers, he shared a post from an X account that said that Joseph Stalin, Adolf Hitler, and Mao Zedong didnāt cause the deaths of millions of people. Instead, public workers did. After criticism, he removed the post.
Shortly after Trumpās inauguration, Musk spoke virtually at a campaign event for a far-right German political party, Alternative für Deutschland. He said that Germans should not lose their culture to āmulticulturalism.ā
In my life, Iāve had to give speeches in front of a crowd, but no matter how well the speech went, I never did a Nazi salute. Iāve seen many many more speeches, and again, even the ones that went very well didnāt end with Nazi salutes.
Literally the only people who do Nazi salutes in public are Nazis and actors portraying Nazis. Hopefully, Musk will spend the rest of his life with this albatross around his neck. That he exposed himself as a Nazi.
