Hey folks!

I’m writing this because funding for the Lemmy project has dropped to critical levels, which could seriously impact its future development.

Thanks to the generous support of our lemm.ee community, our server infrastructure costs are covered, and we even have a few months of runway. I’m deeply grateful to everyone who has contributed - lemm.ee wouldn’t exist without your help.

However, infrastructure alone isn’t enough. Our servers run Lemmy software, and without ongoing development, the platform cannot grow or even be maintained.

Lemmy is an open-source project with many contributors, but the vast majority of development work has been carried out by a small group of core maintainers. A few maintainers work full-time on the project, relying solely on donations and occasional grants to support themselves.

I’ve seen Lemmy development up close, and the maintainers have consistently gone above and beyond what I consider the standard for small open-source teams - they are constantly writing code, mentoring contributors, and keeping everything running. Their work is essential, and without continued support, it cannot be sustained.

    As special as the report you filed, being "name calling. “uncivil” like behavior. ", which to be honest had been you this entire time.

    You really should just log off the internet for the rest of the day and go read a book, maybe even go bask in some sunlight. It’ll do you some good for your wellbeing.

      If you can show me where I was, sure. Its all there however, As anyone can see by reading above this whole chain is just replies to you. I don’t even think I made a point or position known other then I don’t think calling someone a “lying little shit” is appropriate for catching a rule 1 ban (with as is always provided with zero explanation) from .ml of all places.

        Calling out habitual liars when they lie and talking down to their uncivil sophist defenders by engaging in pointless banter in order to waste several hours of their life is a perfectly reasonable action to take

          Ok, then where is the lie? All you have to do is show us. I am quite ok to reply to these for a long time myself, as it is nice and sunny out and I don’t need to spend “hours of my life” to do it. Also I would like to point out that what you call “pointless banter” it the core purpose of Lemmy.
