I’m on Debian 13(Trixie), and use Bottles to play Warframe on my system!

Since this is Lemmy, and this is an unofficial Warframe community here, I’m curious how many of you play Warframe on Linux?

I do, its very easy. I used to need Steam Tinker Launch and a bunch of options but now it just works. I run it with Proton 9 through Steam.

Been running warframe under linux for a couple of years myself by now. Pretty much just install it on steam, set it to proton 9 and it will run perfectly fine. Soulframe also runs under lutris with proton-ge.

Been playing Warframe on Linux since 2020 when I made the switch, used to be you had to use a specific launch flag to make the game have audio and either plug in a controller or fake having one or the game would crash after around 5min. Thankfully such tweaks haven’t been necessary for years now and nowadays Warframe (and most games) just work. Things have gotten so good I rarely even check protonDB for compatibility before buying a game now!

I used to play on Manjaro through Steam, no extra thinking steps needed, just download, install and play. Easy as it can, maybe too easy to be real. Stable FPS almost all time except on open worlds, where there is a little drop
