Today, Congressman Shri Thanedar (MI-13) introduced articles of impeachment against Donald J. Trump, President of the United States, citing a sweeping abuse of power, flagrant violations of the Constitution, and acts of tyranny that undermine American democracy and threaten the rule of law.
“Donald Trump has repeatedly demonstrated that he is unfit to serve as President and represents a clear and present danger to our nation’s constitution and our democracy,” said Rep. Thanedar. “His unlawful actions have subverted the justice system, violated the separation of powers, and placed personal power and self-interest above public service. We cannot wait for more damage to be done. Congress must act.”
The resolution includes seven articles of impeachment outlining a range of constitutional violations.
Good. Now everyone needs to call, email, or visit with their reps to get this passed - assuming they can force a vote. It will only take 4 republicans crossing the aisle in the house to impeach him yet again. Then we need to hound our Senators to get a conviction. That will be the hardest part because it’ll take about 20 republicans to join all the democrats and independents to convict him.
And then someone still has to drag him out
Who’s gonna do that? The Justice Department full of Trump cronies?
At that point Vance would president, I think he’d be eager to move in to his new digs.

Vance won’t have the cult on his side. He has no way to force the fealty of the rest of his party.
In any scenario where Trump is removed from office via impeachment, he’s already lost his stranglehold on the party.
Or their party has lost its stranglehold on the country.

At least with Vance we likely get a malicious and ineffective president, where with Trump we have a malicious and stupid president.
Trump clearly picked Vance because he does what he’s told. I’d be much happier with that outcome than the rapid destruction of our country.
