So… I have just installed a raspberry pi 4b with the standard image downloaded from raspberry page. I installed x2goserver. From the client i try to remote into the raspberry… And all i get is a black desktop with nothing. I can open some apps from the right click menu but most just don’t launch. Any idea how to properly open the remote desktop session with x2go these days?
Thanks a lot!
Raspberry migrated away from x.org a number of months ago. You’ll need to install all the x and x forwarding components.
The default for the stock distro will be Wayland, not X11. Is there a reason you want to use x2go and not a more modern remote desktop implementation?
What’s a good remote desktop program? Need to control my desktop PC from my main computer. KRDC is… Not the best
Remmina is probably the most popular and stable that’s more modern right now. Works fine with everything I’ve ever thrown at it.
Remmina…as a remote DE server? I thought it was a client only.
Im going to try that! The only problem is Wayland keeps forgetting I want to share my screen with KRDC even if “remember for future sessions” (or similar) is ticked. I wish there was a complete solution for screen sharing without problems
