Failing to do this after the civil war is the reason we have had some version of this problem for the last 150 years. The fact that this was done in Germany after WW2 is the reason why they haven’t had this problem since. If we as a society just wag out fingers and tut and say everyone back to their corner, they will just take power some other way in short order and continue carrying out their plans. Paradox of tolerance, I’m afraid.
