This is going to be a lot but I think all of it is very important, sorry in advance.

    1. Israel was supposed to firstly not allow this sort of attack to happen, it’s largely negligence from the self-destructing Netanyahu administration that ousted the more moderate Yair Lapid administration which only ruled for a few months despite conceding the previous two years to the conservative frothing at the mouth nationalist Naftali Bennett just to form a unity government in the first place. The constant internal turmoil is largely responsible for the multiple points of entry that Hamas took to cross the border walls and observation towers while armed to the teeth for slaughter. Basically, what I’m trying to say is, prevention beats a cure. While not confirmed by Egypt AFAIK, a lot of different news sources claim Egypt gave several “general warnings” about escalation in the days before the event.

    2. Instead of indiscriminate bombings of heavily populated urban regions, designating children’s hospitals, refugee camps, and centuries old temples as airstrike targets, maybe they could have sent in some fucking people who can use their trained eyes to tell the difference between a sniper nest and a burn ward and use their hands to select which one they want to shoot. If they spend many years at war with Hamas and kill far less people total, that sounds like a far better outcome than killing 10,000 people in a month and hoping some of them were Hamas.

    3. It’s really hard to see this as a war on Hamas and not All Palestinians when Israel bombs the Rafah border daily, placed the other border to Egypt behind the line of their offensive, and closed down the northern border of Gaza Strip. Over the course of this maybe only 10,000 have died so far, but 25,400 have been injured, 250,00 were forced to evacuate residence adjacent the borders, possibly up to 1,000,000 people have been displaced by this conflict many of which will not have homes to return to. And do you know what is going to happen to all of that land? It’s going to be bought and sold by people in Israel for a hefty profit. The perpetual shrinking of Palestine that has occurred for generations, often accompanied with violence and corruption. Israel does not appear to want to destroy Hamas. They want to destroy Palestine and everyone in it.

So TLDR: Israel should 1. not allow it to start 2. use discriminate methods of combat 3. actually give the innocent civilians a way to survive this instead of killing as many people as possible
