To be clear I don’t adore it but I know no amount of love and compassion will get through to these people and there are enough of them in power we can’t ignore them anymore. Unless our peaceful protest is backed by a willingness to respond to their violence in kind they can simply be ignored. Maybe the solution is economic violence (general strike, sit ins) but when they send police to break it up and arrest people everyone needs to be ready to defend themselves.
but I know no amount of love and compassion will get through to these people
How do you know this?
It sounds to me like you have so much faith in Hell that you want to build Hell. A very long-standing problem with teaches and educators.
I also don’t mean Hell is a literal place under the Earth, underground. But an attitude of faith and belief in how love is not worth the effort and war is good.
I was born in the South of USA, in Georgia in 1969. We had a song on the F.M. radio about your attitude that compassion goes into the trash every time things get difficult. Molly Hatchet, a Florida hard-rock band. “Fall of the Peacemakers”. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gncyDkWWY_w
The gun-stroking pro-violence hate-preachers who run this nation in April 2025 - every day on social machines I witness why these leaders are popular. People have absolute faith in dehumanizing and killing those they disagree with.
Because I see these people every day, because I tried to fight it with love and compassion and understanding since 2016 and every single time they just chose to get worse. Because nobody stopped them, because that’s who they want to be. I’ve lost family and friends to this mind virus who have chosen the cult over the people who love them. They chose hatred over love and more love only enables them to go further away.
I’ve heard the world they want to bring us and to me that is hell. They’ve driven us to the point that the choice hell for them, or hell for us. I didn’t leave this comment to try and get into a debate so I’ll probably be done responding after this. But if my only choice is two hells I’d rather be the one at my devil’s side than the one under his boot.
Once they’re thoroughly defeated and their sick cult destroyed that’s the time for kindness. Thats the time for healing. Right now nothing can heal as long as they’re still around and we’re afraid to amputate the rot.
All that said if you still believe kindness and compassion can save these lost souls then I wish you better luck than I. I do believe some of them can be saved but the harm we let them do to others as we waste time trying isn’t something I’m willing to be part of anymore.
My stance is the same as Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
Technology alone is the crisis
Terrorism has since proven MLK Jr correct after his death. Technology of drones and new smart ways of killing people from a distance. Without compassion, people will just keep advancing technology of how to wreck other people’s lives with power and force.
