I have Name of the Wind. Never read it, but it was highly recommended to me in college. I’m glad I never started if it’s still an incomplete story lol. Is it worth starting anyway or does it end in a cliffhanger like Game of Thrones?
The first one is still good as a stand alone if you go into it knowing the large scale stuff won’t get resolved, like a slice of life piece in a fantasy setting.
It doesn’t end in a cliffhanger but…if you love it like others do you’ll be dying to know how the next book is supposed to; personally though I’m just curious, not more than that. There’s a hilariously cringey aspect but you might consider it a spoiler (though it’s not a plot spoiler):

You basically know the end of the main narrative by the midway point of the book. It’s how the character got there that’s missing.
