There’s a lot of people who inappropriately believe that it can’t happen to them for no other reason than they believe that they won’t roll a 1. In this regard, it’s a wake-up call that people have a tangible self-interest in defending others.
A shocking amount of people have an acute lack of empathy for strangers, and have a hard time putting themselves in other people’s shoes. This is an invitation to imagine what’s happening to others by imagining it happening to them.
hate that libs have to reframe it as “it could happen to you” because “It is happening to people” isn’t enough.
