They’re trying to appropriate AAVE to make themselves sound like they’re “down with the struggle.” Your brain subconsciously knows this when you see someone doing it. Y’all is often associated with more poor people in common American culture (at least this is how it is perceived in the southern US) so their idea might have been to “sound more working class”
