I do, there are a lot of citizen journalists that post videos of street interviews at protests and whatnot, and I get updates on bleeding edge LLM models and those companies and scientists and engineers. There are also other things available there that aren’t on YouTube. I don’t even want to use YouTube but that’s where I have to go more often than not to get access to the content creators I want unfortunately. But for one example of trying to de-YouTube: Louis Rossmann started posting on Rumble so I go there on occasion too.
EDIT: I’ll add that I try to use Mastodon, and I like the UI and whatnot… but those same engineers and AI companies aren’t posting there, they’re posting on X. So if I want up to date announcements I have to stick with X. It is what it is.
People still use that?
I never joined.
I even abandoned a creative project when I found out I’d need to market it there.
Still want to finish it and put it out there though, for the people more than for some money. D&D thing.
